The Blacklick Community United Methodist Church is approximately 190 years young. The church began in the home of James Wakefield in the early 1830s, and it soon grew into a log cabin of its own, not far from where the church stands today. The current church building was first built in 1854, with additions added throughout the years. The last addition was built in 1966. In addition, the church has state-of-the-art audio and visual system, which continues to evolve as technology provides opportunities to present additional formats for outreach ministry. Currently, live streaming services via FaceBook, Zoom, and on this website.
On August 1, 2023, Blacklick Community United Methodist Church disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church denomination and became an independent Christian church, “Blacklick Creek Christian Church.” We are still Methodists at heart, but Christians first.
